Average catch rate in May was 4.7 fish per person per visit , Its fishing & has been fishing really well , great to see dry flys and buzzers finally been the best method  ..Large number of hatches & amazing evening rises are occurring , good numbers have been caught by nearly all anglers ..Fine lines (4 /5lb fluorocarbon ) are needed with the best flys were small black, brown and green epoxy buzzers ,sedges ,daiwl Bach's ,montana ,GRHE and pheasant tail nymph.

We’ve had an amazing last five years with great fly-fishing results and meeting old and new friends and having what, members keep telling me a brilliant years' fishing

 Billy Innes from Poulton-Le-Fylde  who has been a member now for 4 years on January  21st  had his record catch of 19 and missed loads. He quoted

 ‘’Had a brilliant year ,August a bit hard but all other months stunning sport ‘’Well done Billy ..

We have now completed Phase 5 of our massive revamp of the estate,  we have just added another two 5* Lodges giving the total to 7 amazing unique lodges with waterside piers  2 new car parks on the North east side of the lake & extended the main car park at the top of the lake to make easier turning & parking .We are just building a new pier to the east side of the lake to make 19 piers in total now….  The old toilet has final gone & we have opened a 5* toilet with hot & cold water even heating to help out on those frosty mornings ..Flood defense has been under taken having 140 tons of clay to help defend the mere from the river  to help the purity of the water  .The new £10,000 Bob Cat digger certainly has helped this year with all the new improvements..We are trying to keep the fly fishery as up market as possible and I hope you feel that when you come to not over fish the lake ..
